Senior Academic:

BenedicteVanwanseele

Prof. Benedicte Vanwanseele received her PhD from the ETH Zurich (Switzerland) in 2004. After academic positions at the University of Sydney and the University of  Applied Sciences Eindhoven, Prof. Vanwanseele is currently associate professor in the Human Movement Biomechanics research group at the KULeuven. She developed her own, independent research initiatives, published at a relatively high rate, attracted grant funding and supervises currently 7 PhD students. She is also an associate editor of the Journal of Sports Biomechanics. Three career interruptions (twice maternity leave and a job interruption due to a move overseas) led to a period of lower academic productivity and some challenges to return to the academic competitive field.

ISBS Mothers Cafe

The ISBS Mothers Cafe Event is restricted to ISBS Members only.

The juggling of carer responsibilities with work has become an even larger challenge for some women, making it difficult to remain connected to our society. Whilst we can’t physically help with the daily burden, we can support each other during this lifetime event by staying connected. Join Liz Bradshaw (mother of an 8 year old) and Ina Janssen (mother of a 6 and 3 year old) online for an informal event with other ISBS mothers during the ISBS 2020 virtual conference. Bring along your coffee, tea, wine, water or anything else to discuss and share ways the society can support you. Kids are also welcome to make an appearance! This event will take place at 08:00 BST on Friday July 24th.

To register for this event please submit your details here, deadline for registration is July 17th.
