Publication of ISBS 2020 Papers

ISBS 2020 Papers will be distributed publically on the ISBS Proceedings Archive. Publication of papers in the ISBS Proceedings archive is restricted to ISBS Members only.

All papers that are accepted to the ISBS 2020 conference will be published in the ISBS Proceedings Archive.

If you wish to publish your paper in the ISBS Proceedings Archive (Vol 38) please review the following requirements:

  1. The paper needs to be fully accepted to the conference. If you have outstanding required edits (minor or major), please address these and revise your submission.   2. The paper is required to have a first author who is an ISBS member. Please update your membership on the ISBS website. The deadline for first authors to update their membership is Tuesday June 30th 2020. If you have questions on ISBS membership please contact the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

If you do not wish to publish your paper in the  ISBS Proceedings Archive (Vol 38), please “withdraw” your paper to prevent receiving reminder emails from the ISBS publications committee or ISBS 2020 Editorial Board.


ISBS 2020 Video Presentations

ISBS 2020 Presentation Videos will be distributed publically on the ISBS Youtube Channel. Publication of papers in the ISBS Proceedings archive and submission of video presentations is restricted to ISBS Members only.

The ISBS publications committee will facilitate the distribution of video presentations for each published paper. These presentations are optional and are not a requirement for paper publication.

Format of Video Presentations

  • Recommended video file format: .mp4
  • Video length*
    • Poster Presentation: 2 minutes max
    • Podium Presentation: 10 minutes max
      • Format is completely up to the author, ISBS has not designated these.
  • Please make the first and last slide of your presentation the provided ISBS template slide.

Upload of Video Presentations

The deadline for first authors to upload their presentation video is Tuesday June 30th 2020.

Distribution of Video Presentations

ISBS 2020 video presentations will be distributed publically on the ISBS Youtube Channel. These videos will be organised into playlists according to content themes.We will also be running a one-off ISBS “People’s Choice Award” from uploaded presentations – this is intended to be an informal, one-off award in which all ISBS members will be eligible to vote for their favourite poster and podium presentations, with the winners being awarded complementary ISBS memberships for future years. Everyone who uploads a poster or podium presentation will be eligible so please keep an eye for further details in due course.

ISBS 2020 Keynote Presentations

ISBS 2020 Keynote Lectures will be distributed for the public on the ISBS Youtube Channel. These lecture will be broadcasted live and recorded and will be available to view after their conclusion.

The Geoffrey Dyson Award Lecture (Professor David Lloyd)

Image of Professor David Lloyd This award lecture entitled "The future's in-field sports biomechanics: wearables plus modelling compute real-time in vivo tissue loading to prevent and repair musculoskeletal injuries" will be presented live by this year’s recipient, Professor David Lloyd (Griffith University, Australia), at 11:00 BST on Tuesday 21st July. The session will be chaired by ISBS Life Member Professor Bruce Elliott and will be hosted on the society’s YouTube channel, with the chance to submit questions for Professor Lloyd to answer live after his lecture.

 

Hans Gros Emerging Researcher Award Lecture (Dr Gillian Weir)

WeirPhoto 2020 This award lecture entitled “ACL injury prevention in team sports: biomechanically informed approaches and applications” will be presented live by this year’s recipient, Dr Gillian Weir (University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA), at 16:00 BST on Wednesday 22nd July. The session will be chaired by ISBS Life Member Professor Joe Hamill and will be hosted on the society’s YouTube channel, with the chance to submit questions for Dr Weir to answer live after her lecture.

ISBS 2020 Society Meetings

In accordance with our constitution our regular board meetings and AGM will take place virtually this year. ISBS members are welcome to attend both the ISBS Board Meetings and the AGM. The ISBS Officers will hold both pre and post conference meetings. These meetings will be conducted via the Zoom platform. ISBS 2020 Student Mentor Program

The ISBS Student Mentor Program is restricted to ISBS Members only.

The student mentor program has been a component of the annual ISBS conference since 2012 and this year will be no exception! Mentees will be matched with mentors and will meet online (at a suitable time to both members). Mentors that take part in the program come from a range of biomechanical backgrounds and are open to discussing your research, career aspirations, or sharing their experience with you.
